UC System question

Okay, I am not 100% positive this particular thread should be in this forum, but anyways, here is my question:

In the University of California admissions system, they have the required "a-g" courses. The problem I have is that I am missing the "f", which corresponds to "Visual and Performing Arts". The closest classes I have taken is Debate 1-2 and Speech, but those do not really fit the criteria.
The main reason I have not taken it is because I switched schools after the 10th grade. If I had stayed, I would have had to take a fine arts credit as a requirement for graduation, but my current school does not have that requirement. I was not sure that I was going to change schools until it was pretty much too late.

I could take one semester of some VPA class during my last semester of high school, but UC requires 1 year, so I doubt it would work.
If anyone has any suggestions, please tell me. I really want to apply to some of the UC schools, but this seems to be holding me back. Anyways, thank you.

does your school offer a summer course for visual arts that counts for 1 year of credits?

If you can't work this out through your HS (talk to a GC about it), you could take a course at a local CC or you could take a web-based course. Check out the online courses through BYU (I'm not Mormon but BYU has a very good and inexpensive online learning program).

You absolutely need one year of VPA. Take a City College course, if your school allows it. Otherwise, your course is against you. :/
