Hey Guys, I stated on my TAG application that I was taking 4 classes in total. However due to certain circumstances I had to drop 2 out of the 4 classes (8 units) . I was wondering if that would hurt my chances of getting guaranteed admission into UCSC. Currently I have the 7 course pattern completed, as well as a 36 units already completed. To make up for my dropped classes I plan on taking a random GE over winter semester to make up for the units. Anyways, will that hurt my chances of getting my TAG revoked? Also another question, I haven’t submitted the regular UC application yet so should I list the classes that I would take for spring semester (updated) or the classes that I said I would take from the TAG application (outdated)?
My son had the same situation for the Fall quarter. We have checked with two UCs AOs as well as counselors from his current college from which he is transferring and all say to submit the application with the most recent courses, exactly as you are taking it now. And to update the spring to what is the new plan. In January there will be one more opportunity to update with the Fall grades and any revised spring. The AOs said they understood that Spring is just a plan. I, too, am concerned for any discrepancy on the application with the submitted TAG earlier.
Also, very important - make sure to indicate the changes in the Additional Comments section.
I’m going to have him double check again that courses all match transcript, etc.
Lastly, I think UCSC and some others are having open chats/zoom in with counselors this next week. Maybe best to hop on and just ask one more time to be sure.
Best wishes.
