UC Tag Fall 2015 transfer decisions

Hi guys, I got accepted to UCSB which I TAGGed to as well.

Does anyone know how to check whether my TAG was approved? There’s no tab or info on UCSB’s tag decision.

Maybe check the UC Transfer Admission Portal for your TAG decision. What is your major?

Just gotta call them about it lol.

Sorry to revive this thread, but if I am currently a senior in high school and have met the requirements for TAG through CCC courses, will I be able to apply and go to a UC in the fall?

So you have at least 30 CC semester units that are UC transferable, and plan to comp!ete at least 30 more by the end of Spring, which includes most, if not all prerequisite classes toward your major? Do you attend a middle college type high school? Are your CC units satisfying high school requirements? You should meet with a transfer advisor at your CC and also meet with visiting UC reps.

I know you can take the CHSPE and upon passing, leave high school with a diploma (and parents’ permission) and continue with your CC and UC transfer journey.

From the TAG Matrix PDF:

"Only students transferring directly from a California community college (CCC) are considered for a TAG, including international students (those with a visa). A CCC transfer student is one who has completed at least 30 semester (45 quarter) UC-transferable units at one or more California community colleges, and the last college the student attended in a regular session (fall/spring or fall/winter/spring) before admission to a UC campus is a California community college. "

AP transferable units do not count toward the 30 units so simply having a lot of AP credits does not enable you to apply for TAG by itself. You really have to take the 10 or so courses at a community college prior to be accepted into a TAG. Additionally you need to have full-time student status (usually 12 semester units) for at least one non-summer/winter semester prior to applying.

As a former dual enrolled student myself, I know the CCs place a unit limit for all dual enrolled students which prevents you from being able to reach the full-time status while claiming part of the free K-12 education from the State of California. Most CC districts place a 6 or 8 unit limit per semester for dual enrolled HS students.

I also think middle college systems won’t be able to apply for TAG because their educational credit is partially used for HS requirements leaving students unable to claim full-time status with the associated CC.

Edit: Home-schooled students might have a loophole though.
