Hey everyone,
ANyone that has gone through the TAG process know how hard it is? I started at sf state and now im at a junior college and im hoping to submit a TAG for davis this sept for admission in Fall 2011.
Other than filling out the application online to my best knowledge and submitting it to my junior college, is there really anything else I have to do?
It is necessary to meet with a counselor before I submit it?
Thanks!

yeah you should meet with a counselor before

You must fill out the TAG Agreement on or before September 30th, correct. However, in addition to this there are several stipulations such as the IGETC, English and Math requirements that can vary from school to school. So I would definitely clear up those requirements and insure your eligibility for the TAG program with your counselor before completing the TAG Agreement form online.

All the best

thank you!
They hadnt had my credits transferred from sf state to my cc until recently, so I will set up an appt tomorrow!
i really hope everything works…im super nervous, about the english requirement because on one form i see that it says by the time you enroll at Davis you need 2 english courses but then on the TAG i think it says by the time you sign it you need 2, so I am a bit confused, nervous and scared
thanks though!

yep i think that by the time you sign it you need two done but check with them for sure

Like taking a big dump.

There is no TAG agreement as in a written contract (as in something you sign). There’s IGETC, the UC online application you submit in September, and the actual transfer application you submit in November.

yes, meet with a counselor before you submit it. The TAG itself is pretty straightforward to fill out, just make sure all your coursework and what not is right. Submission stars Sept 1 and ends the 30, so you’ve got some time.

Meta is correct the IGETC is what matters as the real transfer completion certificate contract. It only qualifies you as an incoming admitted junior but does not guarantee a UC’s departmental admission, especially in an impacted major.
A TAG is only that individual colleges articulation agreement they have with a UC. It is meant to assist you on a structured path towards completing lower division requirements.

I thought schools such as ucsd and ucsb do not require you to fill out a tag application. All you do is check the tag box on the uc application which you submit in november. I could be wrong. Can anyone clarify?

well ucsb and ucsd are both on the actual tag application…and i do know that ucsd changed alot of things concerning taging to their school, so i think its better to be safe than sorry and just fill out the thing. takes like 5 min and its free lol!
