UC TAG info. needed

<p>Hello guys,
I am planning to transfer to one of the UC campus for Mechanical Engineering in fall '13. I am planning to TAG one of the UCs in SoCal (UCI, UCSB or UCSD) however I will not be able to complete 30 units before end of this summer (I'd have finished 25 units). Has anyone been accepted as TAG applicant with less than 30 units? I took 20 units this spring with 4.0 GPA and going to take 5 more units this summer and will try to keep 4.0 GPA as it is. Is 25 units with 4.0 GPA good enough for TAG or I need 30 units to be even considered?
Thank you.</p>

<p>You must meet all requirements to be eligible for TAG. TAG is not like regular admission, there is nothing subjective about it. If you meet all of the requirements (and maintain them), you are approved and have guaranteed admission. If you do not meet all of the requirements, you are not approved.</p>

<p>Alright, thanks a lot just wanted to make sure …
Laforlife you seemed pretty informed about UC admissions … any chance you can answer me about internship question? Which UC have good internship programs for engineering students …
Thank you, you rock …</p>

<p>Thanks. :)</p>

<p>I honestly don’t know much about internships and stuff like that. I only stuff about transfer procedures becuase I’ve looked it up so much. </p>

<p>Don’t worry about TAG though. As long as you finish your pre-reqs, with your GPA (even if it drops) is more than good enough to get into an Engineering program at a UC</p>

<p>I got into UCSD as an electrical engineering major. Only had 28 units after the summer semester before applying for TAG. I was accepted through TAG because there is no way I would be accepted considering my lack of all prerequisite courses.
However, mechanical engineering is an impacted major at UCSD do you will not be able to apply into that major using TAG.</p>

<p>alright Integraballer, thanks a lot. So I do have some hope for a TAG after all. I’ll probably TAG UCSB.
Thanks to both of you guys …</p>

<p>No problem transfer25. Good luck :)</p>
