I originally attended mt sac community college for two semesters one summer school semester and a fall semester. I relocated during the fall semester and never dropped the classes. Most of the classes taken there were remedial classes. Time passed and I received an academic probation letter.

2 years later I started fresh again at Fullerton community college where I now have a 3.9 gpa and prepared to transfer. I qualify for the tag program to uc irvine but my question is......Does my academic probation disqualify me as a candidate for the tag (transfer admission guarantee) program?

I was dismissed from my CC and came back a year later and I am now in good standing and transferring next Fall, as well. When filling out the TAG for UCSD, I noticed it said the student’s transcript must not mention any dismissals or probation. I emailed them asking if I was still eligible and they replied I am.

The only thing about your situation is that you are at a different school now, so I’m not sure if the probation on the transcript from the previous CC will disqualify you. Since it has been 2 years, I’m sure you would qualify for Academic Renewal for that semester which would remedy the problem.

If you click “contact us” at the bottom of the TAG app, you can email them and ask. I’ve done it twice and they respond very quickly! The last time it was within the hour. Good luck!!

I appreciate you sharing your experience. I will call them about academic renewal tomorrow. Thanks!

To update I submitted my current transcript to mt sac college and they did an academic renewal. Thanks again!

Awesome! Glad I could help :)
