UC this and UC that

Sorry, I'm just tired of the UC's always being here. why don't you guys go to that forum. i'm sure all of the first-years are gone now.

Excuse me? We are transfer students. This is where we belong.

Second that.

well, I wish everyone can get into Harvard, Stanford, Yale..

unforunately it's not the case, so we have to do UC this and UC that.

UC give you most BANG! (pun intended) for the buck.

I'd also like to add that the uc transfers pulled really hard for a transfer forum here for a very long time. It's due partly to our *****ing and moaning about needing our own space that CC complied.

oops. i always forget about the censor.

whatever. what i said still stands.

haha! i didn't know that. so where did the UC transfer hopefuls post in those good ol' days?

We usually just congregated in college admissions. We'd search out literally any thread that had to do with transfers and it wasnt so fun. Definitely wasn't the sense of community. Sometimes we'd post on the boards for the prospective schools but its hard when a majority of the people there are first years and are just going through a completely different process.

So yeah. Enough of the "go to the uc" boards thing. Its a completely different environment and type of student. We have as much of a right to be here as anyone else. Deal.

I agree with Ponderosa; a lot of the UC threads that have been started can easily be subsumed by others. It is wasteful.

Deal.

Mature. Use what you have instead of occupying more useless space.

what is more wasteful is probably pages of threads dedicated to personal attack, totally non-college related "intellectual" rants and such.

Its not about maturity. I don't see how my statement was any different than ponderosa's suggestion that we get out of here.

As Ive already mentioned, the UC boards are entirely different and aren't always geared towards transfer students. This board is.

...and the above post exemplifies such wastefulness.

I love self-referentially incoherent posts.

Yes, but this forum is not dedicated entirely to UC transfers; a lot of the threads being started can be raised as posts in other threads and still be relevant; to argue that this forum can be clogged entirely with UC threads is sheer arrogance and presumptuous, as it tacitly presupposes that the only visitors to this area are prospective/already UC students. This becomes impractical, since other students might need information that has been tucked away in the archives.

It is near-hegemony I tell you!

Is this an English forum?
No
Is this a philosphy forum?
No
Is this a personal attack forum?
No
I suggest the person who love to make those kind of posts get out from here. I believe there are ivy-league board also, so why are you here?

I don't think anyone has ever assumed that the entire community here is interested in UC transfers. And I agree that people should check to make sure that their topic hasn't already been posted. But today was a big day for most of us and people got carried away. It'll subside.

well, there ARE more prospective transfer UC students here, hence more posts about UC.

1) I did not apply to an Ivy-League school.
2) There is not a preponderance of Ivy-League related threads, so a separate forum is not necessitated.

Blackdream- Yeah, definitely. I felt that was implied kinda.

and I am not making this comment toward you, relax. You can stay and clog up the board. It's not my hard drive space.

Since some of the UC applicants in this thread are recalcitrant, perhaps if you advised them to be more responsible, they would listen for future instances.
