UC to CC to UC transfer

Hi, I had questions regarding UC transfers. I am currently enrolled at UCI, i’m not doing so well and it’s taken me a year to accept that this college wasn’t the right choice for me. I’ve completed 44 quarterly units (with a current UC GPA of 2.03) but still have freshman standing on my academic record. I have gone through academic probation for two quarters last year, it is entirely my fault but it is also due to my depression and anxiety. I have decided that I want to withdraw from UCI this fall quarter and attend my local community college instead. Is it possible to transfer to a different UC campus from my CC (preferably UCD or UCLA ) in a matter of time? Also, would I still be considered a CC to UC transfer student when applying to UC’s? Or would I be considered a UC transfer? Have I exceeded the number of quarterly units to be considered CC? Also, can I still get admitted through the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program or am I ineligible?

I am determined to do well at my local community college because i’ll be at home with a support network that includes my family. I want to get a 3.5-4.0 GPA at my community college and transfer to a UC school that’s a better fit for me. In the event that I don’t get admitted to another UC, my safety net is UCI because I can be granted re-admission after withdrawal. I understand that my GPA will follow me if I leave, but have I ruined my chances of getting into another UC school by choosing the UC to CC to UC route? Thank you.

Just wanted to throw in some important advice: get your mental health issues and studying habits squared away. There is ultimately no point in attending a CC if you’re not absolutely positive you can perform well.
