UC: To Declare or Not to Declare

i know this question may create some debate or controversy since i doubt people are firsthand people involved in choosing applicants. For UC, What should i do if i only have a faint idea what i want to major in. For me its out of microbiology, economics, and sociology mainly. So i have an idea out of what major i'll choose, but still i havent deducted it to any 1 and probably will not until after applications are due. So should i just randomly pick one and likely change it later (like next year or whenever), or should i keep it undeclared.

ur just like me, but i just choose one of my consideratinos.

That is an interesting question. A UCB recent graduate thought some majors will have less people applying and you might have an edge with that. She majored in Cog Sci and said it was great, you get some good hard math and sci, but also some humanities type stuff. However, my dd applied undeclared and was accepted with a 4.0 UC-weighted-gpa (not that high) but high SAT's.

Does applying undeclared hurt your chances????

As long as you're applying to the college of letters and science, what major you pick does not matter, undeclared or otherwise, no major gives an dis/advantage.

Thanks funnyman!
