I am currently a sophomore at UC Santa Cruz. I am applying to many UC schools for the Fall of 2012. I am going for the Electrical Engineering major and will have completed at least 90 quarter units by the end of the year.

I have a 3.34 GPA (I know not that great at all)...

I am doing a lot of volunteering and working and had a business internship this past summer.

What are my chances for my EE major at:
UCI, UCSB, UCD, UCSD, UCLA, UCB, Cal Poly SLO

Please help I am stressing like crazy and I know that UC-UC transfers are difficult.

let me know or email me please!

UCB, UCLA and USCD will be real reaches. Cal Poly SLO is not a UC, it is a CSU, and therefore will probably not give you any priority over other transfer applicants from four year schools that the other UCs will and is probably also a reach. UCI is probably your best bet.

UC’s give least priority to students already transferring from a four year university. Freshman applicants and junior college transfer students get priority. UCB, UCD, UCSD & UCB will be hard for you to get into. Cal Poly SLO is also a reach, because engineering majors are impacted and the most competitive. You have a chance at getting into UCSB and UCI. Good Luck!

Internships, volunteer work, work experience will all add to your app. If you internship was related to engineering that you help you a lot. I also think the circumstances of why you are doing and intercampus might also be taken into account. Just by looking at your gpa and nothing else, i would say UCB, UCLA and UCSD are definitely reach schools. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply to UCB or other reach schools, because your internship or something else might make you stand out compared to other applicants. make sure you apply to some reach schools as well as some safety ones too. Don’t worry you will get into some schools on your list just stay positive for now! and don’t stress out too much.

SLO does look at EC a little bit. They require a supplemental application for filling out your EC related information.

I would say with your GPA, it is most definitely possible but not a shoe-in.

Transfer GPA requirement actually got easier from 2010 to 2011. It was around a 3.5x in 2010 and it fell to 3.40 for 2011. So it definitely helps.
