UC to UC Transfer Question

If you transferred from a JC to a UC in Fall 2005, (completed work at this UC for Fall 05, Winter 06 and Spring 06) and are curious about transfering to another UC for Fall 2006, can it be done, and how so?

Please give a little more than just the basics on this, thanks....

does anyone know?

isnt this a little late?

i said if youre curious first of all. and ive heard it has been done by many people.

no clue... i honestly haven't heard of anyone that has done that. You would have to take a gap year, i would assume unless you apply right after you transfer. Also, i heard that transferring twice is generally frowned upon. it is best that you do your best at a JC, stick it out for 2 years and go to the place you intend on going.

It is almost impossible to transfer from a UC to another UC. This is due to the school's thinking of why would a student want to transfer to a university when he/she is already attending a university. With that said rememeber that California CC students get first priority, then CSU transfer students and then UC to UC transfer students. (This is actually written somewhere)

umm... i don't think CSU students get priority over UC students... and its not impossible, just very hard =).

...because very few people actually do that...

in fact, i've never personally heard of or talked to anybody doing or did intercampus....

guys guys guys, can you guys cheer me up a lil bit? im doing intercampus transfer.

didnt mean to depress u, but i was just saying that all the negativity could be due to imagination.................well at least the transfer admit rates dont differ much between intercamp and CCC.

completely not true. I know 4 people that have done. One was a Biochem major from sd to la w/ a 3.2. Another one was a neuroscience major from sd to la as well.

I think it can totally be done. One person did it after just one year w/ AP credits.

heres something funny albeit completely OT......

all intercampus transfers unite! we get no love lol... i think that a lot of people, counselors especially, say its "almost impossible" because they want to discourage you from transferring, well i say SCREW THEM. Anyways, i have talked to a few intercampus transfers from last year and they've all survived. I know 3 people that have done the intercampus transfer process personally, so, obviously its not impossible. Anyways, good luck to everyone, especially you fellow intercampusers. I hope we all get what we want.

amen to that

nobody answered how the process is done though.

considering my situation, i transfered from a junior college to a university, and i was perhaps (this is totally uncertain) wanting to transfer to another university.

so does anyone know how this would work? ill just go speak with an academic counselor.

hobofromdowntown: umm yes i think CSU does get priority over UC transfer students =) It is WRITTEN in our CC site

CC site? can you link me? its not that i don't believe, i just never heard of that before. I thought it went CCC then all other institutions. Oh well, we intercampus really do get shafted.
