UC to UC transfer

Hello! I am currently a freshmen at UCR and I just got accepted as a junior transfer to UCI today! I am excited for the future possiblities and did not think this was possible so I wanted to give some advice to those high school seniors that may not be so happy with the colleges they got into and want to do a 1-year transfer to another UC!
First, make sure that by the end of your spring quarter freshmen year you have 90 units, it does not matter if half of them are AP credit, in fact I had 36 AP units and the rest I took either in CC or at UCR. Keep in mind if you do not have many AP credits make sure to take classes the summer going into freshmen year (i took 3 at CC and 2 at UCR during the summer)
Second, keep your GPA as high as possible. I cannot stress this enough! The higher your GPA is the higher chance you have of getting in especially since UC to UC transfers are frowned upon and selected AFTER community college students. This is even more important if you want to transfer to an impacted major.
Third, have the pre-requisites done! Cal is really strict on that and possibly UCLA as well. Having them finished will save you time once you transfer as well and will not hold you back.
Regarding the letter of Reciprocity for those of you who do not know is a paper stating that you have completed the GE requirements at your school and so you will not have to take the GE classes for the school you are transferring into. I personally did not have mine finished but I am a first year so I have 3 years as opposed to the 2 that other transfer students have.
I was determined to transfer out of UCR as soon as I hit the SIR button because I wanted to go to a better school esp considering UCR did not have the major I wanted. I used that as a valid reason so that UCs would consider my transfer request. Many of you are probably in the same spot I was last year so I hope my post helps you guys! LMK if you have any other questions for me!

Bro I am also from UCR, can I contact you for further info?

Yeah for sure! Do you wanna message me on ig or snapchat? or you can message me on here if youre not comfortable with that lol

Hi, I’m attending UCR soon, and I wanna PM you but it won’t let me on here.

@wafflecat @jwang017

You can private message (PM) someone by doing the following: click on his username to get to the profile page. Once on there, click on the orange button “Message.”

Another way is to click on the envelope gear (second from the left in the top right corner). That’s your inbox. When you click on it, you’ll see the “New Message” option. Add the username of the person you want to message in the “Recipients” field. You can PM multiple people by adding their usernames to the “Recipients” list.

@WinstonZayne you can look above ^^^ and message me if you have any other questions or post on this thread as well so it can help other people

if anyone also has any other questions they can post on this thread as to hopefully help others!!
