Same here. I got annoyed with the people in my Intro to Logic class because they wouldn't stop asking stupid questions and didn't like the instructor very much on the basis that the material was difficult to understand and in turn, made them dislike the instrcutor. When he asked students questions, sometimes it came off like he was attacking them because their answers didn't make sense.

Students simply aren't prepared for courses in logic. Going through an illogical K-12 system doesn't help.

haha, mighty elitist taking around here. remember that, not everyone is a freaking genius and it is community college after all. as long as they contribute i dont have a problem with that, its the lazy ones that need a beating

Oh, it's not that I don't find stupid people to be important in society. Not the case at all. I think there's a lot of less intelligent people who are rather hard workers and are good at, well, getting things done. It's probably better that way, too. They don't waste as much time pondering big questions that won't really get many people anywhere.

I, on the other hand, am probably at the bottom of the totem pole, especially because lazy people like me "need a beating". :(

Major Pol S GPA is 3.7 and 3.75 after Fall 2005. Applying only to UCLA

so haybaxt, if ucla rejects you, what are your plans?

biochem major 3.5gpa, tap, good amount of ECs/leadership, and good essay. ucla top choice :[

haybax, why not UCB? i understand their poli sci is popular?

Once again I would really apply to more schools then just UCB and UCLA. Look at the thread from last year, some very smart people got turned down from both these schools.

ther'es nothing wrong with high hopes

Anyone here auditioning for BFA acting at UCLA?

gpa by the winter..3.65..
aplpying for ucb, ucla, ucsd, uci, ucsb...and maybe usc..
my major would be applied mathematics...

Do you mean winter classes will factor in? Because I think they won't.

i hope ucla and usc is generous this year!

that's a good Q...

how will our current fall '05 and winter'05 spring '06 gpas affect application?

On updating the transfer application...

You must provide your final grades from the previous term and list all courses in progress or planned for the term before you expect to enroll.

So I guess that means they only look at grades up until your last fall semester (typically, winter intercession is included as part of spring semester--at least at my schools).

^ poster above
In the springtime, you will have to update your grades with the final fall grades and if you have winter, with that as well. Last year, they didn't have an option to add winter courses, so I had to add it in spring or fall and every campus that i was accepted to emailed me about my heavy course load for that semester.

Ah, what month did you have to submit the update? Since winter intercession is only January, then I'd guess it would help boost your GPA and help with the completion of any major requirements you still have.

I think it's after fall quarter/semester. Now that i think about it, i did not get to update my winter intercession grades, and that was the reason that I received emails asking about my heavy courseload for spring (no option to input winter courses in the update, so you have to put it in as spring).

You know what, I'm looking at the application right now and for my school term type, I put "Semester with InterSession". I'm starting to wonder if I should put just "Semester" since my school counts the winter classes as part of spring.
