I applied to

Cal - economics,
UCLA - math/economics joint major,
UCSD - math/economics joint major,
Davis - economics,
UCSC -economics,
UCSB - math/economics joint major.

For those UC’s which offered math/economics joint major, I also applied under economics as an alternate major.

GPA: 3.67
IGETC: will be completed by spring
HONORS program (UCLA TAP certified)
EC’s: working 20+ hours/week for the past 5-6 years, member of Health & Nutrition Club, BizEcon Club (nothing fancy)
ESSAYS: talked about my life in ukraine and how that inspired me to pursue econ, my interest in inter-disciplinary studies, my diversity, and me taking courses at my community college as a high school student.

Here’s the thing…

I made the decision to go for math in addition to econ just this last quarter. I have A BUNCH of math to complete for my major.

I took courses at my community college as a high school student and have 2 C’s (that are unfortunately UC transferable) from those years… This is bringing my GPA down from like a 3.8-3.9 to a 3.67. I talked about this in my essay, though.

Here’s the breakdown of my major req’s and my progress:

Cal

UCLA
(math/econ) 4 courses completed 3 in progress 3 planned. 4.0 major GPA.
(econ-alt major) all courses completed. 3.8 major GPA.

UCSD
(math/econ) 4 courses completed 1 in progress 2 planned. 4.0 major GPA.

Davis
(econ) all courses completed. 3.6 major GPA.

Phew!
ok so my top choice would have to be either Cal or UCLA followed by UCSD. The rest… I kind of haven’t given much thought.

Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!
