looks good for all the schools; i dont really know about UCB and UCLA since the major is impacted. Good luck

Fullerton College
Philosophy
4.00 GPA
Applying to: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB
Prereq: done for UCB, dont know about UCLA
IGETC: Finished
EC: few --- are ECs that important?
And do we send the Ap grades we got in HS or do they just want the AP score?

CC: California Community College
Major: Neuroscience
3.8 GPA
Applying to: UCSD, UCLA, UCI, and maaaybe Berkeley
*First choice is UCSD
Pre-Req: Here is where I need some advice. This is my 2nd year at cc and as you bio majors know...we have lots of pre-reqs. By the end of this year I will have my O-Chem left to do and one semester of physics. But aside from that everything will be done and my GPA will remain the same. Should I apply or not?
IGETC: Finished by this Spring
EC: Phi Theta Kappa President
200+ Hours Volunteering at UCSF Medical Center Emergency Dept.
Work in school's lab as lab tech assistant
(not much # wise, but quality vs quantity, right?)

Do you think I should apply? I know it doesn't hurt, but if I do apply what would you say my odds are with UCSD with 2 sems of ochem missing...

Hey guys, new to the board...just thought I'd post my stats.

Stats:
-Schools: Sierra College to UCSB
-GPA: 3.94
-Pre-reqs: Stats, Gen Chem 1 & 2, Calc 1, full year of bio
-GE: 2 classes short of finishing IGETC, still weighing finishing IGETC versus finishing UCSB's GE after I transfer
-ECs: Working part-time as an EMT, currently taking scuba class and planning to scuba dive regularly, not much time for anything else due to schedule

"does anybody know if the AP classes that transfer to your CCC can be applied to the IGETC?"

Yes, they can, not that it applied to me, but I was with my friend when he talked to a councelor about it. You should talk to a councelor and see what the AP credits you have will satisfy on the IGETC.

You must report any and all AP exam in which you received a 3, 4 or 5 score. These exams are considered college level units and we need an accurate record of all your college level units for your admissions.

You must report all AP scores? What if you're not using them, and have already taken classes that they would have fulfilled? I don't think my High School even sent the scores to my Community College.

And would two scores of 3's effect my chances at UCB, or any other UC for that matter; or, would it hinder a 4.0 college GPA?

If you are not using them, I don't think you have to report it? because the reason reporting it is to get the credits for them. I don't think your AP Scores will affect your chances or not and absolutely it will not hinder a 4.0 GPA. By the way, it's amazing how you maintain a 4.0 GPA, i find it hard to get A's all the time in college, do you actually have any W's?

Nope, no W's; studying takes precedent over all other activities for me, even sleep. Also, this semester I am trying to "find my limit" so to speak, so Im taking 7 classes, and after finishing my first group of midterms I think I can say I am well on my way to finding my limit -if it exists.

East Los Angeles College 22years old
Ethnicity:Hispanic
major: history
GPA: 3.0
IGETC and Major Prep: done by spring
EC: Volunteering at YMCA, President of Casual Music Club, Play lead guitar in band with Chief of Police of my city for charity events, part-time job waiting tables 25hrs a week since i was 17.
My advisor from UCLA got it with a 3.2, what do you guys think? she says she knows people who got in with 2.8gpa

lsdguy, i also know last year's ucla advisor at elac who was accepted with a 3.2 gpa for poli sci (small world, huh). Didn't she get in on appeal though? anyway, she actually recommended that i concentrate on my classes and cut back on ec's. With a 3.57-3.6 gpa, i'm also below the average for an impacted major (in econ though).

My advice is to complete tap (elac's honors program) if you can. it offers consideration for an alternate major if i'm not mistaken. This is the reason, i've heard, why the admit rate for tap participants is 90% at ucla.
