UC transfer priority question

How hard it is for international students and out of state students to transfer to UCs compared to CCC students. I know CSU and UC students have lower priority compared to CCC students but how much priority to int. and oos students get compared to csu and uc students?

UCs are state schools, so in-state kids are the main priority. Go look at the admission figures of both out-of-state and international for one of the schools you’re interested in - you might laugh at how many international applicants they admitted.

thanks for replying. I was looking at ucla transfer stats and on the top it says that 2,555 int. students applied and around 600 were accepted but when I look down to see exactly which countries they’re from, literally like 5 people were accepted. not sure whats going on

I know at the freshman admissions level, a majority of freshman out of state and international get great priority to admissions to the school…The universities really want to make the school diverse and well rounded, and also they want the money, because these students have to pay more.

As for the transfers, as you saw, the international students had an acceptance rate of 33%, where the transfers (CALI students) had an acceptance rate of 28%,

and Im not sure what @tredelta, meant by you may laugh when you see the figures…the only reason why there arent as much international/out of state students admitted, is due to the the small number of applicants…but according to percentage, these students have a higher priority…and many international students are not able to complete the prereqs and such so its harder for them…

But its not really true that CALI kids get priorty, its just there are so much applicants from the home state, that obviously the majority of students are going to be from Cali…
