UC Transfer Program

Hi, I'm currently in high school i senior year, but due to some personal reasons, I am attending the local community college. My question is that is what are the qualifications in a CC that would help me get in. Meaning like in high school its like 4.00 gpa, good SAT score, but what about college? And are the UC's more selective in transfer programs or they are as the same as the freshman applicants. And the UC want to go to is either Davis, Irvine, San Diego, or Santa Barbara

Most UCs are about as selective for transfers as they are for freshmen. You will need to take the right courses and get solid grades to transfer to the schools you list.

Davis, Irvine and Santa Barbara all participate in a program called TAG. It is an agreement with CC student that says, take these classes, get good grades (3.2-3.5 depending on campus and major) and we guarantee you admission. Just be sure to contact your target school and validate the requirements periodically, they differ a bit by major and can change.

Also, if a UC transfer doesn’t work out, CSUs are a solid option.

Good luck.
