I have a question, people.

Following the end of this week, I will likely have appx 35 AP Credits for Cal and 50 AP Credits for UCLA. I am going to take one course this summer at a CC (major prereq).

Then, during the fall, winter, and spring terms, I will take more courses (major and IGETC).

Does that fact that I won't have much GPA established at the time of application hurt me?

Would it matter if i got an A this summer and all As for the fall?

I plan to apply to Bus/Econ and Comm Studies at UCLA and Legal Studies at Cal.

Will they have problems because i didn't do much classes at CC at the time of application?

BTW, I am also planning to be IGETC and UCLA TAP Certified.

What would my chances be of attaining these admissions (With my disadvantage) if I were to earn a nice hihg 3.9 or 4.0?

thanks people.

nopee it doesnt hurt you… just get a 4.0! you have no reason not to, right?

well, yeah, i am going to get 4.0, but i am worried that they will not see any grades since it is all after i apply.

to my knowledge, there are quite a few one year transfers here on cc (myself included, though i did not get into ucla econ :[ )

and if you think we finished all 60 units in one year, you are wrong. we all had AP units to cover for us. so just take likeee 12-14 semester units during the fall and spring… and probably 3-6 units during summer and winter. don’t worry, you’ll be fine.

I only had two courses that were AP transfer and I could have easily done those during the summer session.

Doing a 60 unit work load in one year is very doable without ap transfers but expect to take classes during all summer and winter sessions as well as doing a unit cap (or higher) during fall/spring.

I was declined from UCLA Biz Econ with a 3.6 application GPA (3.9 after this semester, I got 2 B’s which artificially deflated my GPA).
