UC transfer(urgent)

I have been admitted to UC Merced .. it is the only uc i applied to and now i want to go to a better UC but it is only possible if i waste 6 months or transfer . so i want to know if transfers to other good schools are easy to do if i keep a good GPA or not.

Merced is suppose to be your safety school, you should be able to transfer though if you keep a good GPA. Depending where you go a 3.5 should suffice for most schools. Depending on major, you may need a 3.8 or 3.9 for UCLA or Cal.

Did you get addmitted as a transfer or freshman to Merced?

If you are a transfer i would suggest waiting the 6 months and reapplying to other UCs.

Why would Merced be the only school you apply to?@!!! I hear this all the time, people not thinking they could get in…always always apply to the top schools even if you dont think you have a chance because sometimes they surprise you.

^ What he said…and also if you applied to other school your personal statement or ec might change other UC’s view on you…what a waste -_-

Wow you only applied to merced, you could have gotten into riverside and that’s not the greatest school either. Your parents are dissappointed in you, bheta.

haha, he called you bheta ^^

well he IS indian, as well as I and many others on this forum :p

I applied to UC merced , SDSU, Cal state la , n SJSU n got into all of them . The choice of colleges was so because I was late for applying to all the colleges , as I got my immigration in january and thts wen i got to know that i had 2 apply for college in the states. on top of that my boards were just 2 months away , thts why i got late for application , so i took whaftever i could get at the time , and now i really want to go to a better school, some one even told me that community college would be a good option. I dont know about it , so if anyone could tell me more about it , tht would be nice

It is harder to transfer from UC to UC than it is to transfer out of a community college. So go to a community college…get a 4.0. Save 2 years of paying UC fees. Fight it out in community college and then transfer. If you get a 4.0 your entire time at CC…you might even get the Regents Scholarship…which is very good. So just go to community college…forget merced.
