UC Transfer

Hello! I am currently a freshman attending the University of South Florida (Tampa). My major is biomedical sciences, but I am changing it to computer science this semester. I wanted to transfer from USF to a UC school in Fall 2017, but I’ve realized making that move isn’t very possible. I wouldn’t have 60 transferable credits nor will I have finished my pre reqs for my major. If I am able to gain more experience in my major (i.e coding, programming, etc.), have a great gpa, have a decent resume, and finished all the credits I need to transfer, will I have a chance to transfer my junior year of college (Fall 2018)? Will transferring schools kind of late impact my chances on getting hired by certain tech companies? Please help!

So why a UC? If you are a Florida resident it will be financially more advantageous to stay in state. Are you sure that the Computer Science degree from USF is not going to give you the opportunities you seek?

I have a question on a Computer Science Transfer from IVC to UCI: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1924456-computer-science-transfer-ivc-to-uci-help-p1.html?new=1

@xraymancs I am very sure that this school does not offer as much resources for computer science as other schools do. This school is medical based more or less. I would also like to go to a school that is closer to the area where I want to work in the future.

What about another in-state school? Costs will be much lower and there are certainly good CS programs in Florida at the larger state schools.
