My plan is to go to UCSD. However, if I get rejected, is it best if I go into an easier UC or CSU and transfer to UCLA or similar or go to CCC and transfer from there? Thank you.
@“Sargis.Sh” If you are thinking of transferring to UCLA, 100% go to a CCC. CCC students have first priority at transfer, followed by UC-UC transfer and last priority is given to CSU-UC transfers. Furthermore, it is rather quite easy to maintain a high GPA at a CCC rather than at a UC or CSU, and if you are really set on UCLA you can join the honors program at a CCC and get TAP certified which will give you PRIORITY consideration AND the opportunity to choose an alternate major to UCLA which will basically double your chances at admission (UCLA normally doesn’t consider regular transfer applicants for their alternate major, but it will only if you get TAP certified). Plus, you can take advantage of the Transfer Admission Guarantees (TAG) offered by CCCs which will give you guaranteed admission to some of the UCs such as UCI, UCSB, UCD, and UCR. If you are still in high school, you could even choose to take some CCC classes while in high school to chip away at the transfer requirements and potentially reduce the amount of time you will spend at CCC after high school graduation. For example, I took nearly 79 UC transferable semester units of CCC college classes while in high school between 10th-12th grade, and this allowed me to only spend ONE year at CCC after my high school graduation before I was eligible to apply to the UCs.
@need2go2UCLA Thank you for your advice. This really helped a lot.
