My transfer GPA currently stands at 3.7, which will be a 3.8 by spring when I graduate. What are my chances of getting into schools like UCLA and Berkeley for Political Science? Pretty great essays in my opinion, I am a CCC student and tag UCSB.
you can get an estimate of your chances by looking at Transfers by major | University of California and seeing where your gpa falls in the 25:75 percentiles they give.
GPA is not everything, UC does comprehensive review so that may bump your chances up or down depending how closely you match what they are looking for.
Did you take part in the Transfer Alliance Project (TAP) at Cal? This provides counseling and they say 80% of those in the program get admitted to Cal. It is aimed at underserved communities. See Transfer Alliance Project (TAP) | STAR: STEM Training, Activities, and Resources
UCLA has a program with the same initials but quite different criteria, being an alliance of honors programs at CCC. It gives a “priority consideration” whatever that means although reports I’ve read say the admit percentage is higher for those taking part in it. Another benefit is they’ll consider you for a 2nd major at UCLA while they don’t for ordinary xfer applicants. More on the program at https://tap.ucla.edu/ Worth looking into whether you qualify for it
