Its a lottery to get into desired AP classes so if my son takes UC transferable class (3 or 4 units )from community college then will he get 0.5 points added to his weighted GPA?
1 semester of a CC UC Transferable Class = 1 extra Honors point in the UC GPA calculation. Not 0.5 points added to the weighted GPA but more like 0.05 but it also depends upon the # of academic classes taken vs. honors points.
Above a certain number, more honors classes don’t get an honors bonus but continue to add to the divisor, dropping the Capped Weighted GPA.
UC’s will consider all three GPA’s: Unweighted, Capped Weighted and Fully Weighted so maximum Capped weighted is 4.4 and Fully weighted is 5.0.
