i have a counseloring appointment this wednesday and i dont want a community college chemistry course that i took in HS and got a C in, to come back and haunt my gpa now that i'm attending CC and hoping to transfer to a UC...

this course is on my high school transcript so i guess i can't really hid it..so what should i do? tell her about it..or see how long i can go without having the course appear on my record....

if i apply to the UC system without reporting this course to them...and then i get in and send my high school transcript and they see this course was on my high school transcript, would they take away my admission?

well if you took it at a CCC, wouldn't it be on you're CCC transcript too? everything you take at CC is on you're college record... they told you that when you signed up for that class back in high school. its up to you.. if you dont want to report it then dont.. but just know what could happen if you don't. they most likely will take you're admission away if they found out that you tried to hide a C that you took at another CC.

personally i can't stand people that try to hide their grades. they are trying to cheat the system. you got a C in a CC course that you knew was going to be on ur permanent college record. just because you were in high school at the time you took it doesnt mean you get some special treatment.

colin...nobody told me this course would reappear on my college records so i didn't know when i was high school...(nobody told me and its not exactly the first question that would pop into a sophmore's mind)

*UC don't ask for ur high trascript after u transfer from ccc.

i had a C in one unit pe class that i took in High school, the class was held in HS. I registered for it HS. Taught by a HS teacher.

It was never on my college transcript. I dunno if i had to report it. i never did.*

Am I the only one that has a different transcript? It seems like I got double credit for all courses I took (once in HS and once at the CCC). It never showed up on my HS transcript, but stuck with me at my CCC... if I didn't have to disclose what I took during my HS years, I'd be set.

[edit: i'm not condoning hiding grades, btw. just saying.]

but maybe my situation is different since this classes was registered at hs and taught in HS. but somehow, for some reason, called a cc transferable class.

anyhow it's the only class and it was a one unit pe class. I also took the exact same class at ccc b4, which is on my official trascript as an A grade. :)

uhhh well then if no one told you its still your fault. just because you "didn't know" doesnt mean you get an exception. you took chemistry at a CC... therefore didn't you think for a second that just maybe it would appear on your CC record? come on.. think here.

Wait a minute. So do transfer students going to a UC have to send in their high school transcripts as well? Because I took college classes while I was still in high school, which counted towards my hs credits, and the same classes (well, one of them) is going to be used when I transfer. Will the UCs not count this class?

Most especially if you carried on with your Community College Studies at the same Community College you went to for the Chemistry class (or whatever the situation actually is), your not being open with the class will be perceived as being dishonest.

Also, you might one day very well qualify for scholarships which could ask for your High School Transcript.

Furthermore, the odds are high that the Community College you are going to will have a transcript write up with some of your high school stats on it.

You should be lucky that you are not trying to do some Community College type of transfer to a University where I currently live in the South. We all automatically ask for your High School transcripts even if you are 30 years of age or older.

So, basically, ilovecalifornia. You should just be open and honest. It will save you a lot of grief later on. Please try and actually think of the repercussions of being dishonest will cost you.

..i'm just wondering if there is a fair way to not bring it up...if my counselor asks me i have no problem telling her the truth...but wahtever..thanks for the responses everyone..i get the point and on wed i will tell her the full details of my situation = )
