UC Transfers

What is the difference between Computer Science in the Engineering school, and Computer Science in the Letters and Science ? Also, can you transfer into both as sophomores, or is it only the Engineering school which you can transfer into as a sophomore. How does that work..do you just complete half the required credits than a junior? Sorry, many questions! Answers are greatly appreciated! :)

Computer science in the engineering school probably is interrelated with something else like compute engineering or electrical engineering, whereas CS in the L&S is strictly CS.

And no, the UCs don’t accept any sophomore applicants; you need to have a minimum of 60 transferable units (junior standing) to transfer.

Pretty much if your into the arts of cs then go to l&s. If ur more into the more in depth stuff like how it works and all that other good stuff then go in the shcool of engineering.

UC campuses might consider lower division transfer students if the applicant was UC eligible out of high school, meaning they could have applied as a freshman and competed all freshman requirements. Most campuses have restrictions on lower division transfer students so you would need to check with the campuses you are interested.
UC Davis will only consider lower division transfer students in most programs in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.
