Hi, I am a second year at UCD and I'm trying to transfer to UCSD or UCI. I'm a biological sciences major and my current GPA is about a 3.4. After this fall, it will be up to a 3.6 or 3.7, approximately. I will have all my pre-reqs done by summer (just one class). But I also took a GE class over summer at a CC and ended up not passing due to personal issues. Do I HAVE to report that on my application? And if I do, how much would it affect my chances? I know I probably won't get into UCSD but I'm hoping for at least UCI. Thanks!

Hey sorry I’m not an expert in UC to UC. But I’m just curious why you want to leave Davis?
Also, your GPA is really strong for UCI. I literally know nothing about San Diego so I’m not sure about your chances there. And as for that class at a CC, I would highly recommend reporting it. I know it sounds tempting not to to save your GPA, but if they find out you didn’t report it, you’ll most likely regret it.
Anyway good luck! If you keep up the good work I’m sure you’ll be happy with the outcome!

Always report all your grades. Hiding grades = automatic rejection if they find out.

Yeah, SD’s going to be a long shot…

UCI is a bit more possible. Your failed class will hurt you if it is UC transferable and if you did not retake it.
