UC Univesities

Hi, Im entering into my Senior Year and hope to apply for UC B and UCLA.

And I took a look at the A-G Requirements.

(f): Visual and Performing Arts (VPA)
dance | drama/theater | music | visual arts
1 year required - one year-long approved VPA course. (Consult your high school counselor when selecting courses to fulfill this requirement.)

I dont have any VPA in my GR10 and 11 Year. Im wondering if GR9 Year Band counts, or if its not too late to be in a VPA course in my Grade 12 Year.

I actually also noticed this.

a) HISTORY / SOCIAL SCIENCE
Two units (equivalent to two year-long courses or four semesters) of history / social science courses are required. Coursework must include
♦ World History, Cultures, and Historical Geography – One year, which can be met by a single integrated course or by two one-semester courses that are not predominately U.S. History; and
♦ U.S. History / American Government (Civics) – One year of U.S. History, or one-half year of U.S. History combined with one-half year of American Government (civics)

Since Im in a Canadian School I dont think I've eve studied US History exept in World History for one year.

""The GPA earned in "a-g" courses taken in the 10th and 11th grades""

so does that mean Im screwd for these univesities?

Thanks

I believe freshman year counts. Also, you could probably take the us history course at a local community college.

Well for the VPA requirement, I'm pretty sure 9th grade band should count. I didn't have a VPA until senior year, and in terms of History/SS, I'm sure theres some type of exception for out of country students.

At my son's school, band does not count for the VPA if taken 9th or 10th grade.
