i got an email from ucsb today saying that they got my application and that i can access my account on their site site starting October 1st

ya same here. i also found out that i got into UCR today. I guess they made their decisions a few days ago?

yah i just checked UCR and i got in too, don’t think i plan on going though. I know some people i knew from high school who chose CSUN over UCR and UCr usually has their deadline for application extended because there’s usually a lot of room left. I’m majoring in communications and for winter UCSB was the only school that had that. UCSD and UCLA weren’t open for winter. UCSD communications department is more towards theater i read. I applied to UCR as a history major just for the heck of it even though i only took like one history class at cc and completed the Pre req for UCSB. My second choice for major at UCR was the Film and Visual Culture Program, i wonder if i would have still gotten in if I put that as my first major, probably not

I completed only one prereq for Business at UCR, the rest are for UCI and UCLA. If they are willing to allow me to enter as a junior with hardly no prereqs done, imma change my major to EEngineering. It will basically take the same amount of time if i stayed with business. I am not going to disregard UCR just yet.. .

so you can change your major at UCR if you are transferring in? wonder if you can do it before

well the reason i say so is because at any university, well atleast at UCI and UCSB, they will allow you can request to change your major as long as it wont take you longer to graduate. So in my case, it would not take me longer to graduate because they want alot of calc for business and obviously for eengineering. You should call and ask, dont just take my word for it.

they will allow you to request a major change ***

UCD and UCR accepted me. UCI, UCSB, UCSC has my app, but pending. I’m really waiting for UCI, if not I’m off to UCD!

ya UCD acceted me too. Im waiting on SB though

Man, I really want to experience dorm life. Hopefully UCI responds quickly so I can decide to get an early spot on the on-campus housing waitlist in Davis if I’m denied from UCI. >_<

ya you can now log into ucsb site but the decision is still pending and they will let you know sometime within a month, i want to experience dorm life too, wish i had during freshman year since i think that’s the best year and pretty much everyone just gets apartments after that

ya i hope UCSB makes their decisions fast. Intent to register is Oct 16 for Davis. If i dont here something from SB by then, imma just sign the agreement with Davis. I really want to go to UCSB but im not willing to risk it. ANywho, does anyone know if davis has guaranteed housing for transfer students?

i guess you can email the transfer advisor there, so you have to let davis know by the 16th if your going to attend? did they send you a big package yet?

Oi, I thought SIR deadline was the 15th at 11:45pm? But seriously, if Irvine doesn’t reply by the 15th, then I’m taking Davis’ offer. I’m not willing to risk it either lol. I’m going to call Irvine today to tell them because I really want to get into Irvine.

They sent me/us an email. If they do send a big packet, it’ll be before the 15th that’s for sure!.

couldn’t you sign the SIR then tell them later that you changed your mind or when you let them know then that’s it you can’t sign the SIR for other schools?

i wonder if less people transfer during winter and if that increases the chances of getting in

There’s a $100 non refundable deposit fee when you sign the SIR. I’m not really sure, but I think you can change your mind if you want later on. Yes, less people transfer during winter so the chances are slightly greater, but there are more downfalls. There are limited majors available and limited space or sometimes no space at all on some campuses. So your options are less than that if one applies for Fall.

yeah, i starting inf all 08 ucsb guarantees transfer housing, i read it was single apartment owned though, i hope its not the 2 places i’m thinking about, cause i heard there really bad. But since its for winter 08, its a lottery of who gets to live where

I got into Davis as an OOS student. I’m still waiting on Santa Cruz.

whats oss?
