<p>If you are applying to UCB, you may want to apply to the BSC anyway to keep your housing options open. Even if you do not want to live in the BSC frosh year, you can change your application to a later year. Priority for new members in the BSC is based on first application date. The BSC’s room and board costs are a few thousand dollars lower than the UCB off-campus student budget, which can be helpful since you mentioned needing a lot of financial aid.</p>
