luvtoolearn: thanks! Congratulations to your husband as well! I actually went to Sac City for a while; transferred to Sierra because it's closer but the people were so much nicer @ SCC. I'm soooooooo excited!

Still in shock...

accepted

3.67...

anthropology

Torrance.... thats is some bs dude, you deserved to get in. Dane, Congrats! i knew you'd make it. Now the question is, UCLA or CAL?

wow....I'm starting to maybe consider cal, even with my career...i don't know what to do.

do we have like a facebook group too?

i vote Adam makes one.

adam... once you get your cal email address, then you can join the Berkeley network.
You can also start your own transfer group or CC Berkeley transfer group, be creative. Actually I can start a group for you all if you want.

Mass Communications
3.63
Strong personal statement, board member of PTK, studying abroad & I work for my city about 30 hours a week.
ADMITTED!!! Screw UCLA!
But... I had one prereq pending for the summer so I was shocked to find out that I got in. Not only that, I applied to Berkeley on a whim never imagining that they would consider me.
It's funny how life works out sometimes.

Political Science
3.67
A very "personal" personal statement.
Involved as T.A., social justice club member, and work 30 hrs a week.
Already submitted my SIR, crossing my fingers that I don't screw up my GPA this semester!

Wow. I got into Berkeley as a political science major with a 3.67 too. I've also seen someone else on this board that got in as a polisci major with a 3.67. It must be the popular polisci gpa.

That may be... or perhaps they look at our grades in the classes we've taken toward our major? My campus offer 5 Political Science classes and I maintained a 4.0 in all of them. Perhaps they take that into consideration?

fashionaddikt - same "on a whim" situation with me too :) same GPA also! are you going to Cal for sure then?

ACCEPTED
3.23 gpa
Sociology
Spring 2009

i was rejected by UCLA but i am a bay area native and i love CAL! =]

Wow, accepted with a 3.2; maybe your essays did pay off.

Out of curiosity, did you make clear that you were a Native American?

They definitely did pay off. Majority of my ECs were my involvement within the Native Community, I also was applying with only one year of CCC finished. I took 18+ units some quarters

I got in with a 3.37... haha

Accepted ... around a 3.5... History.. spring though

Still glad

Einna,
yes I am going to Cal for sure. I'm so excited. I hear their comm program is really good from friends who know friends that are pursuing the same major. The UCLA rejection killed me, but getting into Cal eased my dissappointment. Where are you going?

Anyone know how hard it is to get in transfer as a Comp. Sci major?

Very ?

Very?

...

Anyone have something useful to say? As in avg. GPA or something for Comp. Sci transfers?
