Coming from Berkeley High, I didn’t hate Cal students, but it’s not like I ever talked to them. Now as a Cal student, I don’t hate Berkeley High kids, but yes they are obnoxious at times.

And hobos are really funny if you just get past that they live on the street. Listen to them. You don’t have to believe them or give them money, but they can be funny if you seem interested.

Holy crap could I have seen you OP?
I too am from Toronto and visited Berkeley this winter break and was part of the last tour before they closed for the holidays.

I loved the campus, the city itself I didn’t explore too much but the school looks fabulous.

Hahaha

well yeah the campus itself is really pretty - but then again, the campus photos can be viewed on Google Image :S lol

the city was really … just not my thing. it was like WALKING AROUND JANE & FINCH (not really but get the exaggeration here :D)

I’ll agree that the Telegraph area is just super shady in general. But if you move a block east of it to College and walk south for 5-10 minutes, you’ll see a totally different take on the whole stroll-around-and-window-shop thing. They have nice restaurants and shops that look very CLEAN without a bum in sight! It is a bit of a walk, but I’ve made a couple of trips down there just to get the delicious gourmet ice cream from Ici’s… yumm!
