<p>Was just wondering what my chances are at UCB, which in my particular situation, include an upward grade trend and participation in the Berkeley TAP program. Coming out of Mount San Antonio College.</p>
<p>Applied: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCI
Major: Philosophy
Prerequisites: Done at most schools. UCB has no pre-reqs for phil but have gotten A's in all philosophy courses.
IGETC: Done by spring
Honors Student
GPA: 3.61
Major GPA: 4.0
TAG: UCSD
TAP: UCB(!!!) and need to finish two classes in spring for UCLA TAP but have applied for it.
EOPS: Yes
ECs/awards:President's List, Student Athlete (at Fullerton College), English Distinction Award, volunteered for NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness), Humanistic Society. Lots of various job experience.</p>
<p>Essay I feel was very strong and have maintained a solid upward trend.</p>
<p>you’ll be admitted for sure… if you have a stellar personal statement then there shouldn’t be anything to worry about.</p>
<p>Thanks so mcuh moderntalking. I’ve just been worried since I haven’t really seen anybody on the forum talk about the Berk TAP program so I was unsure about how it really would help since my GPA is a little on the lower side of good. Beggars can’t be choosers I suppose.</p>
<p>Can a student TAP with more than on institution? I would love to TAP with both UCLA and B.</p>
<p>You can TAP for both. Unfortunately, TAP is completely different for UCLA and Berkeley. I’m TAPing for both but for UCLA, the requirement is 15 units of honors credit. For Berkeley, it is more based on low-income/first generation college students and people are usually invited but you can contact them to see if you can get in. I’m sorry to say but I think that the deadline to apply for Berkeley’s TAP has passed long ago. You can still try, but most likely they will tell you that you need to wait a year. (If that is an option)</p>
