On the messages portion of the website it had the information about Regents.

@crowslayer Some guy in the mid-teens of the thread page was flipping out so it was sort of in response to him. Personally, I wasn’t expecting to get in since I applied to EECS and already got into UCLA. Just trying to give perspective…

So the list was indeed legit. I think the consensus is that the list wasn’t complete but everyone on it did get it. Congrats!

Accepted~! But for spring 2012…
is this bad?

and I was on the list

So if I picked EECS as my only major choice then that is what I got in for, right? Because it only mentions admittance into the College of Engineering.

ACCEPTED! From NJ! CLS! ill post stats later.

Accepted to engineering!! So excited, UCB is definitely one of my top choices!

Also I was accepted to UCLA and UCSD as well.

Cal accepts based on which college it is, not major I believe.

did anybody find their name in CalNet and get rejected? if so, that would really suck.

Accepted to engineering as a spring admit. :)

Just a question, but what is the point of spring admit anyway? Why not a waiting list?

jeekily and celexes - spring admit is definitely not bad. Nobody remembers who was spring and who was fall, no difference in treatment. Further, everyone earns the same degree.

And . . . you can graduate at the same time as the fall admits, either by taking classes at FPF or attending any other school (for example, a community college near your home) during fall and taking classes that will transfer in for credit.

I imagine a number of long term CC posters will share that they were spring admits and let you know how the decision to SIR to CAL worked out for them.

people drop out after 1 semester, gotta fill that class.

rejected. oh well. i didn’t think i was going to get in anyway.

Okay, I’ll weigh in. One of my best friend’s daughters was a Spring Admit. They way it was explained to her was that the Spring Admits are just as qualified as the fall admits, but they don’t have room for everyone in the fall. For example, some current Berkeley students will graduate after the fall semester next year. This will create more room for students. Hence, spring admits. There is a program that you can apply to wherein you take classes at the Berkeley extension campus in the fall. You live in the dorms and are a Berkeley student. You just don’t go to school on the main campus until the spring. You do not get your housing until after all the fall admits but most do get housing. When you see that, sign up for it right away. I think it’s called FPF or something like that. Either way, congratulations!

@rider730: Thanks, but it’s unlikely I’ll be going to Berkeley anyway since I’m OOS and there’s no way I want to pay 50k a year. :P

**Decision: Accepted **
