My daughter got waitlisted. OOS with 29 ACT, 4.7 GPA, tons of ec, strong essays, and was asked for a lor. Her scores weren’t the best so we were pretty surprised.
@crazycrabman: no specific waitlist stats for IEOR just overall admit information. You are not obligated to accept the offer if admitted off the waitlist.
The number of people who get in depends on the yield. If more acceptees go somewhere else, then the more that potentially gets cleared off the waitlist. It will all happen probably first or second week of May.
On the UCB waitlist opt-in form they ask for my fall, winter and spring grades for only 6 courses but I am taking seven, can I just choose which ones to list? Also I am on a semester system so I do not know what to list for the three different boxes, do I list my progress report grade?
I’m torn on what to mention in my waitlist essay. I have done much worth mentioning since I submitted my application other than consistently get all A’s (all of my other activities I have already mentioned my notable accomplishments in my app). Would it be okay to use the essay to mention how I would be a perfect fit at Berkeley? I’m still unsure of how formal/informal this essay should be, or even if it should be very lengthy.
Are we allowed to send in materials besides the essay and what they ask for in the opt-in form? If yes, how do we send this stuff in (LORs, Community College Transcripts, etc.)
