***UCB Class of 2023 Freshman Waitlist Discussion/Stats***

he wanted me to post for him because he didn’t want to make an account himself.

The second wave for the past 2 years was exclusively CS. Does that mean it’s the end for other majors?

Wait is that actually true? Does this include out of state people?

@berk23plz there is no way that’s true. I heard the second wave is mostly l&s and likely mostly oos. So hopefully they include us oos l&s kids in this round.

@tennisninja to clarify, it was mainly, if not exclusively l&s CS. I’m not saying it will be this trend this year, but the majority of the second wave was CS from past years. I’m a bio major and that’s what I found as I looked through past threads ;(

At this point I’m so close to giving up. I can’t wait till the 17th and I’m even more nervous about whether the second wave will include L&S oos. Need some motivation to keep me going

Wow so is it over for us in-state L&S students?

That’s what I’m wondering.

honestly nobody knows at this point. I’m hoping and praying that we get an equal shot to get off the waitlist.

Why are you guys so sure the net wave will be on the 17th?

it makes sense since they need to look at enrollment numbers from the first wave to see how many they admit through the second wave. The first wave’s deadline to enroll is 7 days from the first wave release date, so the second round will likely come out on Friday.

What are the chances that for L&S they just used first wave to fill their in state quotas and that the second wave will open up mostly to OOS? If they had a low number of instate commits this year that would make sense to me…

omg I hope not ? I’m starting to lose hope day by day

is CNR OOS done for WL? It feels hopeless at this point

@CrayonShinChan I’m in the exact same boat as you. Let’s just hope that we get lucky on the 17th!

Can someone call in to check when they anticipate the second round to come out? Also can someone ask about L&S OOS?

The admission officers don’t answer themselves so its unreliable, its prolly more harm than good.

Anybody know how likely it is that another wave of acceptances will come out this week? Don’t know if I should wait to do my housing application for my 2nd choice so I wont lose money if Berkeley comes around, but the longer I wait the less likely I get my choice of rooms.

How many waves are there total?

@dbragen1118 I’d say 99.9%. They have always sent out a wave mid may and they would have had a good number of days to review more apps since the first wave decision deadline was yesterday. I’m waiting on this weekend, if I don’t get it this week, I’m gonna take the L and submit my housing.

@7souldier The first two are the biggest and then it gets smaller and smaller until they fill everything up. It depends on a lot of things.
