ucb engineering

well i'm currently deciding between ucsd and ucb, and one of the major factors is the quality of the engineering schools. I was accepted into ucsd for bioeng pre med but for ucb i was accepted as a MCB major. Honestly i would have put engin during the filling period but i heard engin heard was really hard to get into. So anyways now im wondering how hard will it be for me to transfer into the engin college? are their any statistics anywhere? is there a minium gpa? when should i apply? If it ends up being really hard to transfer and stuff i think i'm better off goign to ucsd because i'm preeeettttty sure i want to do something with engineering. Help would be appreciated.

edit:this was all i could find
If you are in another college on the Berkeley campus, you will need to apply for a change of college. The deadline is always February 15th for admission to the following fall semester. You may apply during your freshmen or sophomore year. Changes after the sophomore year are usually not considered. The College of Engineering as well as the department to which you are applying reviews your petition, taking into account your academic preparation, grade point average in lower division course work, grades in certain courses and the personal statement.

bump????rawrrr

I had a post on this a few days ago. You should search up my name. I didn't get much in terms of hard stats, but from what i gather, it's near IMPOSSIBLE. That's from the people on cc anyways. It's very hard to transfer into engineering because you compete against the junior college transfer kids. There jc gpa vs our berk gpa.... you get the picture. I've heard others on here say youu need like 3.8 gpa. This seems like the normal case, but one of my friends at berkeley has a friend that transfered in her senior year from a history major. She had a 3.0 the engineering pre req courses but some how got in. She talked to the Dean and explained to him why she wanted to go to the college of engineering or something to that effect. But honestly, till this day, im still clueless on the subject. Unless someone can show me some real stats... i'll probably never know and get screwed at berk stuck in letters and science. On the other hand i could be very happy in it... who knows. I'll be flipping coins.

bleh that sucks...
