heyyy. did anyone get an email about sending berkeley financial aid information today?

i did(10 chars.)

Yep, got it.

it goes to everyone who applies.

yeah i got it.

i didn't get it

on the app...did you say you will need fin. aid?

^ No way. My family for sure doesn't qualify for aid, at least that of need-based.

it probably goes to all applicants... i got the e-mail and i don't qualify for need-based financial aid.

I didn't get one, but I did get Financial Aid Applications (FAFSA, Cal Grant forms) from UC yesterday.

same as eddieee

Hmm, I still wonder why everyone that applied wouldn't get the same e-mail.

Ya i dont think i will qualify for the need base assistance either..but i did check it on the application..dont know if i was suppose to do that tho..

i havent recieved any of the emails that everyone has been recieving from UCB, do u think something is wrong with my app, i went to the UCB site and it says in review but i dunno

yeah me niether. I got a general thing int he mail from University of California with cal grant info and FAFSA stuff, but nothign from any individual schools.

I noticed that the email is from an program called Berkeley Cares, which is part of the Berkeley Financial Aid office. Berkeley Cares is a program started, I think, in 1999 (post-prop 209) that does early outreach to some applicants to make sure they are aware of things like FAFSA and that they meet all the deadlines in the case they are admitted. If students wait until after they are admitted it is often too late for some forms of aid.

From what I know, receiving the email doesn't mean you have been accepted nor does not getting it mean your out.
