I got close to 20k in gift aide. What about you guys? (18.5k scholarships, 1k pell grant)

22k!

24k.

Being poor, for the win.

18k, I have three types of aids: Berkeley UG scholarship, pell, and SEOG.

Berkeley gives me less but ucla is more expensive so I would be paying 600 dollars more at ucla. Not significant enough to sway me to much to one side

What is your total net cost? I compared mine to that of my friend, and although we have slightly different gift aid, we both have the same net cost: $7,950.00. Our EFC is 0 as well.

@theonewhodares I have the same net cost as yours. EFC is 0. Did you and your friend select off-campus housing on your FAFSA as well? I think I might change mines to on-campus if they give me more aid to cover the expense.

Did you all have to create your email address to see your financial aid? I’m nervous to do it because it says you can never change it. Do you get to keep your email address after you graduate too?

I chose on-campus, but I have work study and my friend doesn’t have one. If he can get it, he will get more than I.

ucb net cost is $9,708
ucla net cost is $10,398

@music1990 Yeah you do have to, so make sure you choose wisely!

@Freetofly112

How about bballboi@berkeley.com?

Jk. I can’t decide if I should go with first initial.last name or first name.last name or what

I did first initial + last name personally.

24k i am in disbelief my efc is high! Like 10k high. Ucla is giving me like 11k less

I received 18k from UCB, 5k from pell. Does anyone else not have the cal grant listed even though you receive it? UCSD is the only one to list mine in my package, I’m a bit confused/worried!

@panchitus
Im in the same situation with you. No cal grant displayed

24k here!

@panchitus
I noticed that too. I don’t have the cal grant listed for Cal but I do have it for UCLA :-/

I think we should only look at our net cost because it tells us how much do we have to pay out of pocket. Excluding pell grant, my university grant is 18k while my friend receive over 20k for it, but our net cost is around $8k.

Anyway, does anyone receive work study?

@theonewhodares Students can get work study if they expressed interest for work study in their FAFSA. I got 2.4k for it.

@theonewhodares I received $2,450 for work study, my net cost is 8k
