UCB Foreign Language Requirement

I will ask a Berkeley representative, on Transfer Day at my CCC, to confirm. However, I would like to hear some of your answers/guesses/thoughts on this question.

I took one year of spanish in middle school and 2 years in high school. Berkeley requires 3 years of spanish in high school. My high school transcript says Spanish 2 and Spanish 3. Do you think that would qualify for their foreign language requirement?

Thanks

are you talking about getting credit(units) that go toward your foreign language requirement?

I think you're gonna have to take foreign language classes cause those classes you mention are high school classes. unless they're AP and if you pass the exam then you will get college credit.

hope this helps

Foreign language requirement is part of igetc so its up to your ccc if your HS class covers it. It should, but talk to ccc counselor see what you need to do.

When I read the IGETC certification for my school it says "A grade of C- for any third level equivalent in high school."

If it's the same for you, then you should be fine.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I was inquiring about HAAS more specifically. Sorry I wasn't clear on that.
MB260E, I think thats that information I needed. I found your quote on their website.
