UCB HAAS Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

Thank you! I’m doing my video interview after work, in the evening around 5pm. Hopefully im able to share the questions of it helps anyone! Good luck!!!

Thanks @notenoughsleep and @vishvaixxxx for your kindness. I am not confident about my verbal communication. It is a great help if I could prepare for the questions.

How long is the interview?
Is it 1 question at a time, then pauses for the next question to appear? Or just a narrative chit chat?

Seems kinda difficult to administer ourselves.

Good morning everyone, I just finished my interview. The interview is six questions and you can record it twice. There is a test recording in the beginning with a practice prompt. This initial recording is just 10 seconds, but you can “re-test” as often as need be. There is no time limit per question. You have 40 seconds to read through all six questions and brainstorm then the timer begins. For the interview, you have 360 seconds counting down, meaning you can allocate the time however you want. The recording will automatically stop and show “uploading…” but don’t panic if you want a second chance. The link to redo your video (which is one retry only) will be above the video you recorded linked in red. Do cover the previous prompts posted by @NonTradtional and study basic interview questions. I don’t think I did so well but I hope you guys do!

@DingoOnCampus how do you differentiate moving from one question to another?

@DingoOnCampus so you had same questions posted by @NonTradtional ?

^^^ & also I just think it’s absolutely nerve wracking to have to answer six interview questions in 360 seconds with no time allocation for each one. Not sure as to why they preferred this approach than Skype calls :frowning:

Just finished the video interview as well! Refer to @DingoOnCampus 's write-up, it is extremely helpful if you have not yet submitted your interview.

I had to re-record my interview and use the second attempt as I thought it was 6mins per question, but it is in fact 6mins for 6 questions. I had to “rapid-fire” my way through some of the questions as the time allocated is arguably too short for the interview. Good luck to those who still need to complete their interviews and remember it is due by March 18 at 11:59PM PST!

I will be doing my interview this afternoon as well. I think it would be helpful for next years transfer thread for those of us that did receive an interview to update later if we were accepted or not. I’ve seen some threads say those interviewed were all accepted and other says this is not the case.
Best of luck to everyone.

For those who took the interview:

Please clarify if the Interview questions are the exact questions I posted earlier.

-OR-

Post the exact questions since you’ve already taken the Interview.

This is not clear to many!

What sort of questions did they ask you?

@Ohm888 Hey I was wondering from last year did many people get in without interview?

Were there any surprise questions?

I am so nervous!! Haha

Yes guys please, I would really appreciate it if you can do that

I received an email from UCB HAAS admission saying " You have been selected to submit a Video Interview. Please submit your Video Interview by Wednesday, March 18 at 11:59PM PST. "

The video interview consist of 6 questions , to be answered in 6 minutes .
Did anyone get this email ??

I have finished my interview, here are the questions:
-how do u describe urself?
-why business?
-what role you play in a team?
-why u faced a situation where you a different opinion?
-how do you engage in a community?
-I forgot the last question lol Im sorry you guys. I don’t think the questions would be the same but I still hope that this will be utilized as a practice for you all to have a better interviews

Thank you! How did you do? Do you think the questions will be the same?

The last question was “Is there anything you would like to provide an update on for your winter/spring semester? (optional)”

I had a slight pause after each question and then began my answer using phrases from the question (e.g. “I would describe myself as…”)
