@user_612420 I’m an early HS graduate as well. What worked for me was concentrating all of my major prep courses in my first few semesters (I began community college in the summer) so I could participate in ECs later on. I would suggest looking for student gov opportunities first if your CCC programs are still recruiting. You could look into taking Calc I during the summer and clearing up your Fall schedule for activities. Generally, it’s best to discuss your college involvement instead of HS activities (i.e. captain of soccer team). Don’t be afraid to get personal in your essays. Good luck!

@DingoOnCampus As a freshman, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be a business major, so I didn’t take my major prep courses as early as I should’ve. I still need to take Trig since its a pre-req for Calc, so I’ll be taking Trig this summer, otherwise I definitely would’ve taken Calc asap. The Calc situation doesn’t look like it can be helped, I’ll look into student gov opportunities though! Is there anything else you think could help make up for not completing the calc requirements early enough? I really want to use the time I have until applications to do as much as possible.
Thank you!

@user_612420 I’m sorry I don’t have enough expertise but it’s up to your situation to choose whether to prioritize ECs or classes. If it’s the former, push IGETC and non-essential courses to Winter and Spring so you can join clubs, conferences, etc. If it’s the latter, such as you have circumstances/stories to write for your essays, then try to arrange easy classes along with Calc I for Spring. Of course, you can also go the moderation route and balance one or two ECs along with work and some classes during the fall semester. It may be tough though.
@DingoOnCampus You were still helpful, thank you so much! I’ll definitely use what you said and try to plan out the next year accordingly. Congrats on your acceptance!
