HELLO!
I am currently a CALIFORNIA student and I have been admitted to Berkeley, NYU, and the University of Michigan. I am on a finance/private equity path and I’m trying to choose which school to go to. I was admitted to Berkeley under a political science major, with regents, but I am on a Haas path. For NYU, I was accepted at their Stern School of Business. Finally, I was accepted at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor’s Ross School of Business. I would really appreciate it if someone who has a) some background in finance and b) someone who has kind of been in my position before to give me some advice about what they chose and why. I only have a few days left and I have visited all three schools. I am going to detail what I like/don’t like about each school so that whoever reads this (lol pls help) can have a better gauge.
BERKELEY:
PROS!!! Very familiar campus, affordable, lots of family has graduated from Haas, brother went there and is in finance, lots of friends there, pretty much know the professors and which classes to take or not to take, REALLY love the campus and the environment, love the social life, fOOTBALL BASKETBALL!!!, priority housing because of regents and all of regents’ perks
CONS!!! CRAZY COMPETITIVE!! REMINISCES MY HIGH SCHOOL!! NOT A FAN OF MY HIGH SCHOOL!! haas is NOT GUARANTEED recruitment is pretty much tech firms and i ultimately want to work on the east coast
MICHIGAN:
PROS!!! I know some people at Michigan, know a few kids that have gone through Ross, already admitted to the business program, beautiful campus, social life is great, FOOTBALL and BASKETBALL wooh
CONS!! it’s so cold recruiters don’t like Michigan as much as Haas or Stern, OOS tuition is crazy high, no financial aid
STERN:
PROS!! in the heart of finance, really familiar with manhattan, just the right amount of rigor, great recruitment opportunities
CONS!! no campus, no athletics, no fun (lol not really but kinda), not really a college experience, major jump
pls help me w my decision thank u
