When Lo says Unit 3, I think she means Spens-Black particularly, which of course is known as TUD: Transfer upper div hall.

What's TUD?

well unit three has a hall called Spens Black... this hall is only for transfer students and for international students. Hence no freshmen will or sophmores will be living there... only people who have never been at berkeley before. It is also a very social dorm.
The pros of Wada is that it is beautiful, clean, and new
The cons of Wada = is not a transfer dorm so it might be harder to meet transfers. Also a lot of sophmores and juniors ( who have been at berkeley since freshmen year and are not transferes) will be living there. Also it is quite .... but it depends on what you want.

Ooh, Spens Black sounds fun. When do you find out which hall you're actually assigned to?

That's not true. "Spens-Black Hall in Unit 3 is reserved exclusively for 250 transfer** and upper division students** in double and triple occupancy rooms."

Also, you're wrong about Wada. Wada is for upper division students, not sophomores.

hey g1a2b3e i was accepted to Wada as a sophmore along with many of my friends... so i dont know what you are talking about? What you mean is that Wada is "reserved" for upper division... this does not mean that only upper division students live here. In fact most upper division students live in apartments, greek system, co-ops and hence not many upper div students apply to the dorms or to Wada. Hence that reservation is next given to sophmores who more than gladly accept this housing assignment.
And sarcasmgrl = if you are a transfer you will be in Spens... Have fun and good luck

Ah, okay. I can't remmeber what I put down as my preferences for housing, but I think I remembered choosing the one in Unit 3 for Transfer/Upper Division students. Oh well, I think as long as I got a double in any of the Units, I would've been content.

I havnt heard yet.....??! ***!
Has anyone else NOT gotten an offer yet? Do they send all the offers out at the same time? Im so anxious!

Duh.

Also, only 1/3 of transfers live on campus.

Natalie, check your junk mail.

I didn't get one! Nothing in junk mail either!

if you get unit 3 then that means you will be living in Spens. I lived in Norton hall as a freshmen (which is right next door to Spens) and it seemed like all the transfers and international students were having a blast. So all of you who got Spens dont be dissapointed...

Do they send the email through cal mail or your personal email??

I would imagine that they'd send it to whichever address you have on file with them. WHERE IS MY HOUSING CONTRACT.

They e-mailed me the offer to my personal e-mail address.

I got a unit 2 mini suite. That wasn't even one of my freaking choices. Damned lottery system. I was hoping for a Spens Black triple. If I accept this, could I also put myself on the waiting list for cheaper and more transfer friendly accomodations?

Not a good idea. As you can see from the housing website FAQ, if you accept the offer and then apply for a transfer you are put behind everyone on the waitlist. I think the better option, if you so choose, is to not accept the offer and just add yourself to the waitlist for the option of your choice.

What's unit 2 mini suite?

I just did some research on Yori Wada, and it looks like I'm going to have 3 other roomates...NOT cool.
I love people and all, but I need my personal space after a long day at school.
Can I make my roomate sleep in the other room and offer to pay 1/2 her cost? Or is that just weird...

Keep in mind that each room has its own lock, and you get a ton of space--thus, it still really is a double situation. Are you not considering off campus options?

"Your offer is for a Double at Unit 3."

I don't even remember signing up for it...

anyway, for those of you who attended calso, where do we check in??? Or should I just follow the crowd? I'm going on Thursday...

I'm guess I'm living at People's Park.
