UCB housing?! advice needed

Okay, good. There's a few of us. If things don't work out, would you be interested in a roommate in People's Park, Cardinal? That way, we could sleep in shifts and keep an eye on our backpacks and stuff.

We should look into the doubles by the basketball courts.

On a sidenote, I wish UCB did their housing assignments like their admissions decisions (a one day thing).

I agree. I just hope it doesn't mean that I got a ****ty lottery number. I'll probably end up on a cot in the dining commons.

They should have a dorm exclusively for CC members.

Hmm, what did you choose for you housing preferences MrMuir? Oh and if you don't get that are you just going to live off campus?

Thanks for everyone who posted on this thread. ^^
Here is what I gonna do. While applying for campus housing, I will go up/online and look other apartments that are available and close to the campus. To be honest, like you guys said, staying in the dorm is more convenient for social gatherings. Making new friends and the fastest way to get around the campus. well, single will be perfect, double okay, triple no no. I was wondering how long the contract is going to be, can I stay for a semester then live off-campus? Do you guys know? How much for renting a studio and a single room?
Thx

yazi, I'm assuming the housing contract would be for one full academic year (fall + spring) Not really positive on that, just guessing really.

As for studios and one bedrooms, the price ranges vary. You should check out Craigslist.org or whatever it is.

Best of luck...

well well, I got unit 1 mini suite...my first choice! But now i kinda regret to switch my second and third choices with that first choice. My second and third choices are single suites. What do u guys think? is singles better than doubles?

Hmmm I think it comes down to personal preference really. But glad to see you got your first choice =)

As for me, UCB housing is still playing hard to get...

Ysirk, you wouldn't have gotten the singles anyway.

Hmmm, if I don't get a single, can I appeal their decision? haha.

Where can I look for housing?!? There are TWO apartments available on craigslist...($500-700) :(

2 apartments? how narrow was your field when you searched?

CardinalFocused, I will call tomorrow...well, no, I will attend Calso tomorrow maybe I can ask them in person, and also look around the off-campus apartment

Thx

I guess this is UCBs way of rescinding my admission!

Hmmmm, is anyone else waiting?

Im still waiting....impatiently

I feel ya natalie, I've been checking my email like every fifteen minutes. I just want to know where I'm going to be living!!

ok...nevermind! I kept checking my personal email cuz i thought that was what i had registered with them but i just checked my calmail and it was in there!

Congratulations! We are pleased to notify you of a 2006-2007 Channing Bowditch Apartment offer. Your offer is for a:

Double occupancy room in a 4 bedroom apartment
Woohoo!!!! My first choice!!

Cardinal...have you been checking both emails??

eeep no! hahah i've only been checking my personal email...I'll check my calmail now though...but they've been sending me my other stuff through my personal email so hmmm...

lol whats the URL for calmail? I only signed up for it to use facebook really

yeah nothing in my calmail either =</p>

ok so I got one email saying i got a double in a four bedroom and then i got another email right after that saying i got a double in a two bedroom. Does this mean i get a choice? If so, which one is better? I think the four bedrooms are townhouses....are these better than two bedroom apartments? Does anyone know?
Did anyone else receive more than one offer?
