UCB-Interdisciplinary Studies Major anyone?!

Hey everyone, I was wondering if any of you applied as an IDS major to CAL? if so, what are your stats? Moreover, if there are any successful transfers for this major than can answer the same question, that would be great! I just applied for the fall of 2012 and just like the rest of you, I'm anxiously waiting. Good luck to you all:)

bump bump bump… anyone? :(

me me me~

3.7 gpa, loads of job experiences, e.c activities and so on.
and with tag.

how about u?

well, so far there’s two of us! haha. do you know anyone else that has applied to? Alot of people (other than berkeley students) I spoke to don’t even know what our major is.
my stats
3.7 GPA (slightly lower at the time of applying however) 4.0 in the pre-req classes
extracurriculars, volunteering, working par-time, etc. etc. we are pretty much equal! Have you picked a concentration yet? If not what are you planning on doing if accepted?
I really want to get accepted under this program!! 37 days left:) Good luck to you, I hope we both get in!

ps. berkeley does not have a tag, do you mean tap?

Don’t you have to pick a specific major in the interdisciplinary studies major region??

Anyways I applied to an interdisciplinary major and have around a 3.8-3.9. Really want to get inn you guys check out the transfer rate? About 37% sounds pretty reasonable…

There is interdisciplinary field, and then there is the actual major within the field as well. what is your major in the IDS field? I saw the 37% transfer rate as well, but then again people with 3.8 were rejected last year so you can never feel to confident:(

oh god now im scared.

i applied for Poli Econ, never knew there was a specific interdisciplinary major all by itself.
People who were rejected did they have little to no EC’s or what getting 3.8+ and not getting in is pretty scary.

I didn’t get it either! for berkeley you know how people are accepted into the college rather than by major? people that were american studies major under the IDS field 3.8 GPA were rejected last year. pre-reqs were done +e.c.'s. But then again psych majors with much lower GPA’s were admitted to the social sciences college which has a ~21% acceptance rate. You can never be too sure. im just stressing out majorly. one day im confident, one day im planning on how to handle my rejection letter. loll. you were smart to apply for poli econ instead of regular econ though, better acceptance rate!

I applied as a Peace and Conflict Studies major.

Anyone else out there apply for the same major as well?

same with me some days i feel confident, some days i dont. I hope the other people who applied for an IDS major don’t have comparable stats to us or were screwed.

But as long as other colleges keep coming out my confidence will get a slight boost. lol can’t wait for the 27th!!! Hurrry up!

me too! best of luck to you both, it would be awesome if we all got in:) uctransfer2012…where else did you apply? i tagged to SD and got my acceptance on saturday. its my backup on berk!

Yea I applied to UCLA, UCSD, and Irvine too. Got into SD this Saturday too, i didn’t have TAG yay! my back up too haha.

What major did you apply for at UCSD? Hope all of us get in and have a huge party as IDS majors :D

congrats! i applied as a comm major hbu??
p.s. the planning of the IDS party will commence after 4/27. save the date hahah :D

Economics @ UCSD Congrats to you as well.

We should possibly throw a party on Saturday 4/28 so everyone can come, 27th would be to short notice ahahaa lol

I love planning parties before anything has happened!
Good luck everyone!
