UCB Transfer Admission Questions

Hello, I am currently a senior in high school. I intend to enroll in community college (Contra Costa College, specifically) then transfer to UCB, hopefully. I have a few questions regarding the required courses for admission into the L & S college's Integrative Biology, BA major.

I've checked Assist.org and from the information I've gathered in order for a transfer student to be eligible for admission they must complete:

Have a minimum of 60 transferable units with a GPA of 2.4 or above

Two transferable college courses in English Composition
One transferable college course in Mathematical Concepts and Quantitatitve Reasoning
Four transferable college courses in two of the following subjects areas: Arts & Humanities, Social & Behavioral Science and/or Biological & Physical Science.

In addition, in order to gain admission to the Integrative Biology, BA major I must complete the following lower division courses (in addition to the general education courses listed above):

Biology sequence 1 & 2

Chemistry sequence 1 & 2

Organic Chemistry sequence 1 & 2

Calculus 1

Physics sequence 1 & 2

Is the information I've gathered correct? Will I've completed all general education and lower division major requirements (if, I follow this exact course outline) before transferring to Berkeley?

Thanks

you need to complete the IGETC to finish all the GE courses. what you labeled in part 2 are the MINIMUM eligibility requirements.

Oh, thanks. Hmm, in order to complete IGETC (with lower division major reqs) I would have to take a few courses over the summer.

Do you recommend completing UCB’s “Essential Skills and Seven-course breath” requirements in lieu of the IGETC?

No, that won’t be necessary. Complete IGETC. Then get your major prereqs out of the way. Ideally, get them both out of the way as soon as possible.

The seven-course breadth requirements won’t matter as long as you have IGETC certification.
