So, here is my main issue..

In November I will be submitting my application to UCB.
They appear to have a great Anthro program.
I do have a 4.0 but I'm afraid that won't be enough.

I've heard that UCB is more suited for grad students as well and want to get the most out of my education and if it truly is tailored to grad students then I may consider applying elsewhere.

Assuming I got into Cal, which would be incredible, I don't want to completely loose myself in school work (which I've heard a bit common...)

Any info on Cal, their anthro program, if undergrads are "welcome," and the balance between work load and life are greatly appreciated and welcome!

Thank you!

I haven’t heard anything about it being better for grads than undergrads… I mean, I think it’s a great place to be for either.

For getting in:
- Are you a California CC student right now? That makes a HUGE difference in admissions, though with a 4.0 you’d have a good chance even as OoS.
- Have you done your pre-reqs (or the available ones)? Check assist.org to see what your major is expected to have completed, if you’re not at one of the schools listed pick a random CC and guess the articulations. Prereqs are super important, though I don’t know the anthro ones off the top of my head.
- Have you completed 60+ (semester) units?

If all those are yes, you’re almost definitely in and I’m not sure why you’re asking. If one or two is a “no”, you’ve still probably got a fair chance.

I’m an EECS major, so no comments on workload or balance…

Example of articulation listing on ASSIST:

[ASSIST Report: LANEY 13-14 UCB Articulation Agreement by Major](http://web1.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=1&sia=LANEY&ria=UCB&ia=LANEY&oia=UCB&aay=13-14&ay=13-14&dora=ANTHRO)

Note the requirements of doing IGETC (breadth coverage for transfer students starting at California CCs) or L&S requirements in reading and composition, quantitative reasoning, and foreign language. The lower division major requirements for anthropology are courses equivalent to Anthropology 1 (physical anthropology), 2 (archaeology), and 3 (cultural anthropology).
