can I apply to cal after just one semester/year of community college ? and do they look at my whole high school transcript or just the grades I got for the pre-reqs ? thanks!
oh and also, is it possible to do the TAG after a year or do we need two cc years in order to be elligible for tag ?t

You need to have 60 transferable units to get accepted to a UC. If you can do this in one year (plus whatever AP credits you have) then there’s nothing wrong with applying after a year. If you mean applying as a sophomore transfer… no, Berkeley only wants junior transfers.

High school grades have no effect on admissions, they only look at how you’re doing in college, which is a much better estimate of how you’ll do at Cal. I think the application asks which AP classes you took, and you can use highschool to clear a language requirement, but that’s it.

Berkeley has no TAG program. Generally speaking, you don’t need to do two years at a CCC to TAG (but you do need 30 credits completed and 60 credits planned).

Thank you very much that was really helpful! :)
