UCB Transfer

Hi, I’m from Brazil. The University I study in, has a joint program with Stanford, Columbia, Berkeley and others as well in the US. I know a guy (which I have 0 [Zero] contact with) that went to Columbia as an exchange student, and then, got accepted as a transfer. The next semester, a guy went to Berkeley as exchange and did the same thing.
If the College accepts you as exchange, and you do well, do you have a reasonable chance to transfer?

My College is well recognized internationally, and I am and have been CR 1 (Class Rank, don’t know if you guys have the same acronym for that) in all 4 first semesters out of 90 students, as we choose our majors as we get into College here. If I managed to get an exchange, do you guys think I would be able to transfer?

PS: My major is Computer Engineering. I deal with Hardware too, honestly don’t know if Computer Science would be the best translation.

Thank you in advance

Well it won’t hurt I would say. Plus, it will let you know if you like the campus or not.

I’m not familiar with international at all, but you are welcome to apply!

@luckie1367 bruh u arent even a junior member yet lololol

But yo, @destinations, it sounds to me like you have great chances at transferring to Cal. I’d start by talking to an advisor at your school/calling the UC Berkeley transfer dept. Good luck my brotha/sista

Berkeley increases every year the number of out of state/international students acceptance due to budget difficulties, so every year your chances are getting better (although I’m not sure if more people are also applying as international students). The goal of Berkeley is to accept 23% out of state eventually, an increase of 1% every year until 2017.
