Do people get into UCLA/Cal with a gpa of 3.55 or so?

My GPA maybe this when my application is reviewed. I am in the honors program aswell as having a lot of EC's.

Do people still get accepted?

If you're TAP certified you'll definitely have a boost in admissions.

vazman-i got into UCLA/UCB/UCSB (waiting on USC...ahhhhh) on a 3.45 and not in TAP/TAG. albeit it was for french, but still.

French is not a competitive department, nor is it even a common one.

Got into UCLA Psych with 3.55 GPA

it really does depend on your major

A friend of mine got in with a ~3.5. To both.

yup, I would also say, depends on major and your essay. Good luck (little suggestion: don't apply to the major that you don't like just because of the school name ^_^)

p.s. & some W's.

wat are W's??

withdrawals.

sorry if i sound ignorant, but how does that help?

It doesn't.

It doesn't, I'm just telling you that for some less impacted majors, these schools tend to be a bit more lenient with certain things.

hey, sorry to intrude--but is English at UCLA considered a competitive major?

A girl I go to school with who is also a fellow vet got into UCLA and UCB in some manner of biology with a 3.25.

Again...GPA is an important factor, but certainly not the only one.

CKG- Yes, English is considered an impacted major but it still has around a ~64% acceptance rate.
